The Goal
Study Sikhi's unique two prong approach provides the tools needed to understand Sikh history, Gurbāṇī, poetics, grammar and much more - unlocking insights not available through self study.

Traditional (Sampradāyaik) Perspectives
This approach integrates traditional interpretations, kept alive over the centuries by learning institutions. These provide key internal clues and insights into the tropes, metaphors, poetics, and definitions relevant to understand Sikh literature.

The Decolonial Academic Approach
This approach puts an emphasis on examining precolonial sources, pushing back against colonial and western interpretations on Sikhi. This perspective keeps in mind the effect of colonialism upon South Asian traditions, and seeks to avoid the various pitfalls in the field of Sikh Studies - while drawing from academic literature which provides useful context understand traditions of South Asia.
